Steel Type Weaknesses, Resistances & Strengths
Steel-type Pokémon are weak to Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type attacks. Steel resists 10 types—Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy—and is immune to Poison. Steel attacks are super effective against Ice, Rock, and Fairy.

Using Steel in competitive teams
Steel is the most resistance-rich single type, which makes it an effective defensive backbone. Its three weaknesses are all common coverage types, so strong Steel cores usually include partners that handle Fire, Fighting, and Ground attacks rather than relying on the resistance count alone.
