VGC Regulation I is the current official Pokémon Video Game Championships doubles format for Scarlet and Violet. Each team brings 6 Pokémon and picks 4 for each battle, with two Pokémon active at once. You can use one restricted Legendary per team. It uses the full Indigo Disk Pokédex and includes Terastallization.
Top VGC Regulation I teams are built around a restricted Legendary paired with 5 support Pokémon. Miraidon offense teams, Koraidon sun teams, and Calyrex-Shadow speed control teams are among the most common archetypes. Strong supports include Incineroar, Rillaboom, Flutter Mane, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, Amoonguss, Whimsicott, and Farigiraf.
The most used restricted Legendaries are Miraidon, Koraidon, Calyrex-Shadow Rider, Zacian-Crowned, and Kyogre. Top support Pokémon based on tournament usage include Incineroar (Intimidate), Rillaboom (Grassy Surge), Flutter Mane (Fairy/Ghost coverage), Urshifu-Rapid-Strike (anti-Protect), Amoonguss (redirection + spore), and Farigiraf (Trick Room setter).
Click any team card to open it, then hit the copy button. Open Pokémon Showdown, go to the Teambuilder, click "Import from text", paste the team, and save. Set the format to VGC 2026 Regulation I and your team is ready to battle.
Start by choosing a restricted Legendary — Miraidon and Koraidon are the most versatile. Then build 5 supports around that restricted: pick a speed control option (Tailwind or Trick Room), a redirection user, an Intimidate user, and coverage to handle your restricted Legendary's counters. Check the sample teams above for proven archetypes from top international players.
VGC is Nintendo's official doubles format — you bring 6 and pick 4, using Nintendo's ruleset and banlist. Smogon Doubles OU is a community format with a different banlist and bring-all-6 rules. VGC teams and Smogon Doubles OU teams are not interchangeable because the legal Pokémon, items, and strategies differ significantly.
This page shows VGC teams shared on crob.at from the community and top players. You can also find official sample teams curated by the Pokémon Showdown VGC council, team reports on Victory Road, and tournament team dumps from events like Worlds, Regionals, and International Championships.
