What are Pokémon counters?

These pages report observed matchup checks from Smogon matchup artifacts. A row is an observation with a sample count, a target KO or switch rate, and a standard error. It is not proof that a Pokémon can always switch in safely.

How are the counter check percentages calculated?

In the upstream artifact, n is the number of relevant encounters, p is the fraction where the target was knocked out or switched out, and d is the standard error sqrt(p(1-p)/n). Lists rank p minus four d, so uncertain observations receive a larger penalty.

How often are the counter lists updated?

Each page displays the source month or merged month range and its generated date. Data changes only when crob.at imports a new source artifact.

How do I use the Pokémon counter search?

Use the search bar to find a Pokémon in available formats. Open a Pokémon to see observations ranked by p minus four standard errors. Inline damage calculations are separate set estimates and do not change the observed matchup metric.
